Who will win if Katakuri fights Marco in One Piece?

In terms of bounty, Marco actually outperformed Katakuri in One Piece. His bounty is 1,374,000,000. It was above Katakuri whose figure was 1,057,000,000.

However, the bounty does not necessarily match the ability of the fighter, for example, the little Nico Robin's bounty surpassed Luffy's first bounty.

1. It could be a long battle

On the one hand, Charlotte Katakuri has both highly trained Busoshoku Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki. His Kenbunshoku Haki can even predict an opponent's attack, so he can manipulate his body to dodge the enemy's Busoshoku attacks.

As long as Katakuri was focused, he could dodge Marco's attacks. Katakuri's focus shouldn't be dispersed so easily either. When fighting Luffy and Katakuri only lost his focus once, when he was caught eating, and after that his focus recovered again until the end of the fight.

On the other hand, Marco has the ability to regenerate continuously.

This regeneration has a limit. We'll see in Onigashima, Marco can start to get tired too after facing King and Queen at once. But it might take a long time until Marco is really tired and his regeneration doesn't work properly.

In addition, Marco also has wings.

This could be an important factor. With his wings, Marco's mobility and maneuverability can surpass Luffy's.

Katakuri couldn't just use Awakening to trap Marco and then beat him up. If Marco had accounted for the attack, he could have been airborne and dodged easily.

So if Marco and Katakuri had a duel, the fight could be very long. Maybe even beyond the duration of Luffy versus Katakuri.

2. How did Marco win?

In terms of strength, Marco can not be underestimated.

He had fought Queen and King at the same time and was able to make sure they weren't going anywhere.

Although indeed, then Queen had to be fought by Chopper and then by Sanji. But there was a moment where Marco was able to fight two Yonko commanders at once.

Marco also has one factor that Luffy didn't have against Katakuri: experience. He's been fighting longer than Luffy. In fact he had fought more than 20 years ago, when Kozuki Oden joined Whitebeard's group.

Marco's own age is close to Katakuri's. Katakuri is 48, Marco is 45.

This means that Marco's Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki can be very well honed. I don't know if Marco can do high-level Busoshoku or Kenbunshoku or not, because he hasn't shown it yet. But he should at least have enough Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku to take on Katakuri.

In addition, once again, Marco can regenerate.

Katakuri beating up with Busoshoku can also be useless because Marco can recover again as long as he is not deprived of his powers.

The longer the fight goes on, the more likely Katakuri's focus will be to loosen up. Especially since Katakuri would definitely miss his snack time due to the length of the duel.

When Katakuri's focus loosened, Marco was able to beat him.

I can also imagine Marco's wings could cause trouble for Katakuri.

Marco can dodge Katakuri's attacks, and can attack from various directions. Including from above.

There are attacks that can render Katakuri's Kenbunshoku Haki ineffective. Like Snakeman, for example, where Katakuri can anticipate one attack but can't anticipate the next attack that comes later.

Marco's ability to fly could possibly give rise to such possibilities.

Marco would especially benefit greatly if the fight took place in an open space. If that happens, even if Katakuri uses Awakening, Marco can dodge in midair.

3. How did Katakuri win?

If this duel was one on one, Katakuri's Kenbunshoku Haki could be Katakuri's key to victory.

I think, Katakuri can predict the attack that will be launched by Marco and then trap his enemy.

The problem was of course, if Katakuri didn't prepare seastone handcuffs or something, then he didn't hit enough. He had to beat again and again until Marco's regeneration reached its limit.

Katakuri could have restrained Marco by superimposing him using the Mochi Mochi Awakening Fruit, but I'm not sure such a technique could hold Marco permanently. Marco would probably get away with it.

Fortunately, in terms of strength, Katakuri is also quite extraordinary. So if Marco's regeneration had a limit, Katakuri should be able to deplete it faster than a normal human.

Katakuri's endurance can't be underestimated either. So even though Marco has managed to beat him, I think Katakuri can still get up again.

Katakuri will also be underdog if the duel takes place in an enclosed space.

When that happened, it would be easier to frame Marco. Even if Marco was on the air, Katakuri could turn the ceiling into mochi and trap Marco.

4. Who will win if they fight?

I suspect that actually Marco and Katakuri have fought before this. But since Katakuri had a reputation for being invincible, that meant if they had fought in the past, the duel could have ended in a draw.

Indeed, considering they both seem difficult to take down, if Marco fought Katakuri I guessed that both of them would indeed be out for hours. Then the two of them stopped fighting with no one winning.

Based on the factors I mentioned in the previous points, I think that if Marco and Katakuri had to duel until someone won, Marco would win.

Marco will probably last longer than Katakuri thanks to his regeneration ability.

Every hit Marco gave Katakuri would be felt and imprinted. Meanwhile, as long as Marco's regeneration is still active, Katakuri's every hit can feel wasted as Marco will recover like he never got hit.

In that situation, when Marco's regeneration ability began to decrease, Katakuri might have suffered more serious injuries than Marco.

If this fight was done in the open, Marco's chances of winning would be even greater.
