Dragon Ball: This is the Saiyan's Biggest Weakness!

Of all the races and species in the Dragon Ball multiverse, the Saiyans, the race of the series' main protagonist Goku, are the most popular besides humans. Saiyans are known for their immense strength and high fighting spirit. You could say the Saiyans are one of the toughest and most powerful races.

What characterizes a Saiyan is their emotion, anger, and emotional side. The Saiyan's anger and emotions are the main source of their strength. The more angry or emotional, the greater the power they will generate. However, sometimes the Saiyan's anger is also their weak point.

Wrath of the Saiyan

The Saiyan race, from the very beginning, was part of the warriors. Their attitude is always happy to fight and never give up, comes from their anger and tantrums. If that happened, their strength would increase many times over. And when their strength was multiplied, they would turn into extremely terrifying creatures.

Although their strength is the hallmark of Saiyans, unfortunately, they are known for their muscle and not their intelligence. Their fighting tactics weren't that great either. In fact, there is a theory that all these emotional outbursts and Saiyans are actually a barrier for the majority of them to reach their best strength.

The theory also says that a Saiyan who is intelligent and well-behaved is actually the most powerful Saiyan. This can be seen from the figure of Goku and his son, who thanks to the heroic actions he did, both were able to get very powerful transformations such as Super Saiyan and various enhancements. Goku was even able to reach Super Saiyan 3 form, which made Vegeta jealous.

Vegeta is very different from Goku's figure, where Vegeta is an explosive and very emotional and angry person compared to Goku. And if you look at the theory, this is a possible reason why Vegeta is not able to reach Super Saiyan 3, and tends to be slow in increasing his strength.

The calm one wins

Other evidence of the above theory can be seen from Nappa, as well as the successors of Goku and Vegeta in the Dragon Ball GT series (Goku and Vegeta Junior). What's interesting is that they are both shown to be very good and interesting like the earthlings in general. They are not shown to be aggressive or have ever had problems with other Saiyans.

And at the end of the series, we see Goku and Vegeta Junior managed to get a Super Saiyan transformation at their young age. They seem so easy to get the transformation. Their calm demeanor, and not too much fighting spirit, showed how they had abandoned their original culture, which only made them much stronger.

Ultra Instinct Form, Goku's strongest transformation, he managed to get after letting go of all the emotional sides he had and choosing to "let go" with all the circumstances. This is perhaps the most obvious proof that a Saiyan's anger and emotions, apart from being the source of their strength, are also the source of their weakness.

Perhaps, if the Saiyans were willing to leave their emotional side behind, and were willing to follow Goku's training methods by relying less on muscle strength alone, the Saiyans could become a far more terrifying and powerful race. They might be able to defeat their main enemy, Frieza, who had already destroyed the planet Namek.
