Goku and Vegeta are two of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball Z. And what's interesting is that there is a moment where these two greatest fighters unite in one body, using the Fusion method. However, over time, the franchise presents two extraordinary forms of this fusion process.
In the Dragon Ball GT story, we see Goku and Vegeta as Super Saiyan 4s, merging into Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. On the other hand, Dragon Ball Super sees two Super Saiyan Gods – or also known as Super Saiyan Blue – merging into Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta. If then Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta were pitted, which one would be the winner?
Which is Stronger?
The first question that needs to be answered is whether Super Saiyan Blue is much stronger than Super Saiyan 4. When Goku fought Beerus and Baby Vegeta, Goku used Super Saiyan 3 form, his strongest form at the time. Even so, Beerus and Baby Vegeta managed to defeat Goku in that form.
When Goku later evolves using Super Saiyan 4, he finally manages to defeat Baby Vegeta – even though he gets help from Majuub and the others. However, Super Saiyan God Goku was quite successful in making Beerus trouble, which Beerus was much stronger than Baby Vegeta. This means that in terms of strength Super Saiyan Blue is superior to Super Saiyan 4.

Goku and Vegeta Stronger in Super Series Than in GT?
To produce a good result, it also takes a good effort. Both versions of Gogeta as a whole are equally amazing. However, when asked which version is better, between Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT, the answer itself is clear. Goku and Vegeta are much stronger in terms of power in the Dragon Ball Super series.
When the two of them merged into Gogeta in Dragon Ball Super against Broly, they had already participated in the Tournament of Power. Goku has already reached his Ultra Instinct form, which can only be obtained through intense training and mastering his abilities. Goku and Vegeta have been training under the supervision of Whis, who is the trainer of the Universe 7 god of destruction, Beerus.
In comparison, Goku and Vegeta in the Dragon Ball GT series can practically even barely approach Goku and Vegeta in the Super series in terms of strength. However, there is one thing that is "problematic" in the GT series, namely the story is never consistent in terms of strength. Super Saiyan 4 Goku was easily defeated by Omega Shenron, while Kid Goku was able to survive a strong attack that made Goku lose.
But, in essence, Goku and Vegeta in the GT series are no stronger than in the Super series. The two of them haven't even reached God or Ultra Instinct level, which is proof of the "increase" in the strength of the two characters. So, in this discussion it can be concluded that Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta is much stronger than Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, apart from Goku and Vegeta who are behind the fusion.
